Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery presents a cycle of Open-air Cinema where it brings together some of the best films that were part of the official programme of the 31st Curtas vila do Conde.

This initiative emerged in 2021, as a response to the pandemic moment, but above all as a bet on the creation of alternative spaces to the conventional cinema room, in a new experience of watching cinema in the summer and outdoors, with a programme different from the traditional commercial circuits.

In 2023, the Open-air Cinema event proposes a Best of the 31st edition of Curtas Vila do Conde's festival, with some of the award-winning films. But it seeks also to reach other types of audiences, offering a selection of animated films for the youngest within the Best of Curtinhas, as well as films aimed at young audiences, with a selection from the My Generation programme. Also noteworthy is the documentary Demo Tape '92, which recovers the story of several figures of Vila do Conde's city story, about the local rock band of the 90s, Turbo Junk I.E..

The Open-air Cinema sessions take place on every Saturday in August, at 09:30 pm, at Solar.
