ANIMAR 20 thanks all its partners
From March 8th to 7 June 7th, the ANIMAR project celebrated 20 years of continuous activity, organising more than 25 film screenings, 20 guided tours and 30 workshops in Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim.
In its 20th edition, the ANIMAR project — a joint initiative of Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery and the Educational Service of Curtas Metragens C.R.L. — presented a diverse programme of activities aimed at different age groups, intending to promote and bring the public closer to national short film production.
This year, the programme focused on animated cinema, highlighting the work of renowned Portuguese filmmakers: Maria Trigo Teixeira, Miguel Lima, Dimitri Mihajlovic, Vicente Nirō, André Carrilho, Patrícia Rodrigues and Joana Nogueira. In addition to the screening of films, the exhibition included interactive installations distributed throughout the gallery's various rooms, providing immersive experiences. The public was also invited to explore animation techniques in practical workshops and discover unpublished works developed specifically for this exhibition space.
The 2025 edition attracted more than 5,000 visitors, including film screenings, workshops, and guided tours of the exhibition.
Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery would like to thank all its institutional and commercial partners for their support and collaboration:
